Just in case you didn't get my email,

this is the plan we agreed for the coming classes (notice the change in time on Tue 7):

TUE 31 6:30-9:30
Course evaluations
Final crit P1: conference material mock-ups and logo revisions

THU 2, April
6:30-8:30 Individual Individual consultations + working period
8:30 BDes opening show

TUE 7 6:00-9:30
Individual Presentations P2. 10 minutes each +5 minutes for feedback. 10 minutes break after the 6 first presentations.

9:30 Celebration ( Only if we are done with presentations, and still can walk a couple of blocks to Pharo's Pizza. )

Plan B: if we cannot make all the presentations on Tue 7, we are having an extra class on Thursday 9 and then celebrate.

TUE 14 @ 1PM sharp @ 2-38A
Final portfolio submission: P1 documentation + mock-ups, P2 report + mockups, process material compilation

MON 20, from 2:15 to 5:15
Interviews (optional). Sign-in sheets on the VCD's corridor wall

I've got a quick photoshop question:
Is it possible to add in several layers of scanned in drawings, all onto one photoshop document without there being any bounding boxes around them. Basically, if i put a second layer in the document i dont want it to have the white square around it...

JOB SUMMARY: Working under the guidance of the Senior Graphic Designer and Manager of Communications and Marketing. The junior designer is required to design promotional materials and advertisements for various Students' Union departments. The Junior Graphic Designer will be responsible for individual projects as well as collaborative. In addition, the Junior Graphic Designer will be consulting with clients on a regular basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To assist Managers, Directors and Executive Members creating advertising and promotional materials for their operations, projects, and initiatives.

2. To be responsible for working within budgets and client demands.

3. Provide creative services to all Students’ Union departments in the form of idea generation, concept definition, and message creation.

4. To perform other job related duties as required by the Senior Graphic Designer and Manager of Communications and Marketing.

Shift: Full Time (37.5 hours/week), Monday – Friday office hours
Union exempt

Qualifications: 1. Must be a student enrolled in the department and Art & Design.

2. Must be a returning student enrolled in the Fall 2009 at the University of Alberta.

3. Must be fully experienced with Macintosh computers, Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator and layout procedures.

4. Must be organized, be able to meet specific timelines and have a basic understanding of press ready requirements.


ASSETS:

1. Experience with Dreamweaver and Flash would be an asset.

2. Photography and/or illustration skills
